We never received a booklet or any information about the property. She did honor it, and then we paid, and were told our room wouldn't be ready for another half hour. We were immediately taken back, and explained to her that we were told we could pay with a card last minute. We decided to pay with a card, and the lady who checked us in Pat told us we need to go to a atm and get cash. We arrived last Friday at 1:30PM and parked in front to check in. There hotel says they take triple a, but they only take it when its convenient for them. We thought to ourselves ok why not! We were told that if we paid cash we would save 20 dollars, but we can always change our mind and pay with a credit card when we get down there. We called to book a room, and were told that they have a 3 night minimum, but if we paid a little bit more we could stay for 2 nights in there M3 room. We always walk past this hotel, and thought we would give it chance. ![]() We booked this trip last minute, so the place we usually stay at was booked. We absolutely love cape may, and go down there quite often. ![]() My husband, and I stayed at this hotel last week for our official baby-moon. We would DEFINITELY recommend the Periwinkle Inn for a perfect stay in beautiful Cape May! This is a family oriented hotel but guests ranged from families with young children to multigenerational families to retired groups of individuals and couples. ![]() There is a also a baby pool and a play house for little ones. We rented bikes for the week and only took our van out once or twice the entire week! The pool was large enough and never overly crowded. We walked to area restaurants every night for dinner. We brought the small table from the room onto the balcony and ate out there every day. We made breakfast in the room every morning and came back to make sandwiches at lunchtime. They actually assign you a specific room upon reservation so you know exactly what you're getting including floor and view. Call the hotel directly to discuss with the very helpful staff which room type would work best for you. This room worked out just fine for three of us. Kathy at the front desk was so friendly, welcoming and helpful, the grounds were immaculate and our recently renovated room was beautiful! We originally wanted a room with a king bedroom and pull out sofa with an ocean view (pay the $25 extra per night for an ocean view) but when we finally made our reservation the ocean view room that was available was the queen bed with the single bed in the hall across from the kitchenette. We loved everything about our little home away from home from the moment we arrived. After scouring the various rental properties up and down the coast we concluded on the Periwinkle Inn to best meet our needs. While planning our trip to Cape May we wanted a place directly across from the beach, a balcony with an ocean view, a pool and a kitchenette. There are luggage carts available and there is an elevator. Front desk supplies pool towels, plenty of lounge chairs surrounding the pool plus a few umbrella tables and chairs, couple of gas grills available, vending machine, ice maker. There is a closet, 2 chairs & round table, dressing area and bathroom. Sliders lead to a balcony with 2 chairs and a small side table. The 2 queen beds are comfortable with lots of pillows. ![]() Room is large includes a small refrigerator, microwave, drip coffee maker with coffee & tea supplies, counter top with drawers. Room we had was on the 3rd floor with magical views of the ocean. Met so many friendly people couples, families, friends. We were a group of 8 friends enjoying a girls getaway. Enjoyed morning breakfast on the balcony, every day we watched the dolphins jumping up and down along the ocean, such magical views. Conveniently located across from the beach, trolly stop is out front, easy walk to eateries and shopping. Wonderful hotel, knowledgeable, friendly staff, very clean accommodations, inside and outside.
